150th anniversary of the arrival of the migrant ship ARIADNE

The inaugural Immigration Celebration is to be staged from 29th September to 1st October 2012. This year marks the 150th anniversary of the arrival of the migrant ship ARIADNE , the first to come direct from the United Kingdom to the Port of Maryborough. Each year following will celebrate 150 years of those ships that followed her into the Port of Maryborough and it is hoped that these celebrations will continue for the next 50 years.

Maryborough Family Heritage Institute

Maryborough Family Heritage Institute holds one of the largest collections of geneaology records in Queensland. The Institute is situated on the corner of Wharf Street and Richmond Street.
